Shauna Garland joined the Philosophy Department, the Department of Political Economy and Moral Science, and the Center for the Philosophy of Freedom in 2017. She is responsible for a variety of things in these units, including creating marketing materials, managing the website, and providing technical support. Shauna has been with the University since 2017.

Before moving to Tucson, Shauna earned a master’s degree in Mesoamerican Art History from Texas Tech University and a bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her master’s thesis is titled “Road: Transportation or Transformation? Indigenous and Spanish mapping practices in the Relaciones Geográficas of 16th-Century New Spain”. As an undergrad, she worked part-time as a snowboard instructor at Breckenridge Colorado and also worked in the Electrical Engineering Department at CU.
