Mary Rigdon

Mary received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Arizona. She is also an Affiliate in the Interdisciplinary Center for Economic Science at George Mason University and an Affiliate in the Center for Population-Level Bioethics at Rutgers University. Before returning to UA, Mary was faculty in the Center for Cognitive Science at Rutgers University and served as the undergraduate and graduate director. From 2012-2013, she served as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation in the Decision, Risk, and Management Sciences program. During her career, her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, International Foundation for Research in Experimental Economics, and the Institute for Research on Women and Gender at the University of Michigan. Most of her research is on decision making using methods in behavioral and experimental economics. Her recent research on gender differences in competitiveness and the gender wage gap, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and Evolution and Human Behavior, has been covered by local, national, and international media.
